Question: What does the bet awards show you about black entertainment?

To me, it shows that we need more black entertainers. I mean seriously, how times are the same damn people going to win the same damn awards. The BET AWARDS have been coming on for exactly 9 years and the winners have damn near been the same except for athlete of the year (and that only switched hands like 3- 4 times). Just Blaise: You got me on that one. What you said is true BUT, we do need more black entertainers (I'm putting authors, directors, athletes, musicians, etc. in this category as well) who are relevant. Why does it seem like we have a new crop of black entertainers every 4 years, then we go into hybernation?? |

"We need more black entertainers " Sports, Music, Books, etc. Entertainment is more then the Black Entertainement Television Network EDIT: I would say the only area we need more black entertainers is literature and hockey. I mean we're pretty consistant in everything else, if anything we've been improving more rapidly with entertainment man |

Now you see... its cool if black people have the BET awards but if white people were to make the WPA it would be considered racist... |

It proves that music in general is getting worse or is at a standstill and people are becoming more easily entertained by not so good music ex. Soulja boy There are too few great entertainers compared to the number of average performers and one hit wonders and for Andrew BET was created because music stations like MTV didn't always show black artists BET also aired shows that weren't picked up by other white networks BET gave many artists the exposure they wouldn't have recieved |

It does seem we see the same entertainers all the time but ya kno times have changed and u do have artists who rap n talk about serious matters that jus havent made it that far yet but something id like to throw out there is that as generations come, we like to jus listen to our genre and wait to see wats next. not too many ppl like before r interested n becoming the next great thing. as generations come we r more concerned on getting money by goin to school n becoming doctors n things of that nature becuz they have publisized that becoming a star isnt easy n many of those guys end up broke. and i'd jus like to comment about newer hip hop songs that most ppl say are stupid and shouldnt be hip hop. well im a teen and wat i want ppl to think about n realize is that not all songs r intended to teach a lesson. many r to jus entertain. like the stanky leg. its no importance to ne one or thing but wen ur with ur friends or at a club or need some dance to do n the ur up n coming talent show, its the perfect song. its jus simply suppose to b fun. most ppl like to see how far their songs/ dances can go which is y there r so many. they r jus simply to entertain n give club goers something new to do every week. |
